What is the most annoying thing in the network communication? That was
the question of some survey concerning social networking and Internet
security on the whole. In accordance with this survey most people
suppose that spam is growing and nothing can stop all these innumerate
irritating e-mails. To be precise, the growth of e-mail spam achieved
90 billion per day as for 2007.
Spam has various definitions depending on the source. One of the most
wide-spread definitions is UCE which means "unsolicited commercial
e-mail". Of course, everyone has already received a lot of such
messages, offering them to join some profitable business, lose weight
and look gorgeous or just travel abroad. And everything seems to be not
so bad at a glance. It is just an advertisement. That's all. Yes, it is
irritating, but nothing more. Well, it will be splendid if all the
above mentioned things were the only troubles caused by e-mail spam. As
a rule, such messages may contain viruses.
There are various methods for refusing spam. All of them have its
advantages and drawbacks. Thus, spam blocking and e-mail filters which
are based on the content of the message or detecting keywords such as
"earn" or "discount" are very popular now. Such methods can be really
appropriate for checking the e-mail that an individual gets. But still
it has its weakness. For example, it may detect the wrong keyword just
using several syllables and in this case, "cialis" may turn into
"specialist" for the filter. In other words, if there is some word
which seems to be not appropriate for spam blocking, you may not
receive an important letter. On the other hand, some of such Internet
security programs are free download. So, choose and try them in work!
And receive only good news!
